Weather Forces Carroll Schools, Government To Close Early Jan 8
BREAKING: Carroll County Public Schools will close early on Monday, Jan. 8, with the exception of one school already closed.

CARROLL COUNTY, MD — With the area under a winter weather advisory Monday, Carroll County Public Schools will close three hours early Monday, Jan. 8, officials said. All school offices, including the school system's central office, will close at 2 p.m.
Afternoon and evening activities at Carroll County Public Schools are canceled on Monday, Jan. 8. Activities sponsored by outside organizations that are held at public school facilities in Carroll County are also canceled.
South Carroll High School was closed on Monday, Jan. 8, due to HVAC repairs.

Carroll County Government offices will close at noon on Monday, Jan. 8. That includes senior centers and the Northern Landfill/Resource Recovery Park.
The Carroll Transit System and Ride With Us will run until 1 p.m., then officials said vehicles will be off the roads.

Carroll County is under a winter weather advisory calling for freezing rain during the afternoon and evening commute. Roads may be slippery, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued the winter weather advisory from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8.
