Westminster Earns Finance Award

Westminster has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association.

From Office of the City Administrator: The City of Westminster has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2016. The Certificate of Excellence is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Washington, D.C.

In response to the City’s receipt of the Certificate of Excellence, Mayor Kevin Utz stated, “I congratulate Director of Finance and Administrative Services Tammy Palmer for being honored by the GFOA for the FY 2016 CAFR. The award is a reflection of the great work done by her and her team in managing the City’s finances day in and day out.”
