Westminster Man Dies After Falling Off Vehicle: Police
The 28-year-old was reportedly riding on the outside of his friend's vehicle when he fell off, authorities said.
Officials say that a Westminster man has died after falling off his friend's vehicle in Woodbine.
Shawn Christopher Shifflett, 28, of Westminster, was riding on the outside of a friend's 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday near the Howard-Carroll county line, police said.
Shifflett fell from the vehicle onto Newport Road, according to the Howard County Police Department.

He was flown to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where police said he was pronounced deceased on Monday.
Police said charges have not been filed against the driver — Justin Steven Young, 29, of Westminster — and the investigation is continuing.
