Westminster Under Winter Storm Warning: National Weather Service

Only travel in an emergency, the weather service advises.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for parts of Maryland, including Westminster, on Wednesday.

The winter storm warning is in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, according to the National Weather Service. Carroll, Frederick and northern Baltimore counties are included in the warning area.

A winter storm warning means that severe winter weather conditions—in this case, heavy snow—are anticipated or are occurring, the weather service reports.

Those who must travel should keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their vehicles, according to the weather service.
