Winters Mill HS Bomb Threat Under Investigation: Sheriff

Students were evacuated from Winters Mill High School in Westminster Wednesday morning as authorities investigated a bomb threat, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

Police learned that someone called a bomb threat into the office at Winters Mill High School at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office reported.

The school was evacuated and students were taken to Cranberry Station Elementary School, and families of students at both schools were informed about the incident, the report said.

K9 officers from the Maryland State Police, Office of the State Fire Marshal and York County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in the search due to the size of the school, according to the report.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information may contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 410-386-2900 or the anonymous tip hotline at 1-888-399-TIPP.
