62-Year-Old Wheaton Woman Victim Of Home Invasion Robbery

A Wheaton woman was knocked unconscious during a home invasion robbery, police said.

WHEATON, MD — Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating a home invasion robbery of a 62-year-old Wheaton woman.

At about 3:18 p.m. Feb. 24, officers responded to the 1700 block of Windham Lane for the report of a home invasion robbery.

The victim told police that at approximately 12:45 p.m., she was home alone in her kitchen when she heard a noise in the basement, police said.

The victim went to investigate the noise and saw a male suspect running up the basement stairs toward her. Once the suspect reached the top of the stairs, he assaulted the victim and she lost consciousness, police told Patch.

Upon regaining consciousness, the woman noticed property from her home was missing, police said.

Investigators are unable to provide any additional details about the suspect at this time.

Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the victim’s home and transported her to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries that she received during the assault, police said.
