Local DC Teens Voice Their Vote

EVEN TEENS TOO YOUNG TO VOTE ARE VOICING THEIR VOTE: BBYO and USY Host Over 500 DC-Area Jewish Teens for Election Night Event

Teens are too young to vote, but they’re not too young to be civically involved. On ElectionNight, over 500 DC-area Jewish teens will come together to be a part of the race to 270.

DC Council BBYO and Seaboard Region USY are hosting an Election Night Watch Party eventat Dave & Busters in North Bethesda, MD for Jewish teens in grades 8-12. While watching thevotes come in they’ll participate in a Mock Vote, hear from elected officials on how they can beinvolved in the political process after the election, and teens will enjoy all of the games andexcitement that Dave & Busters has to offer.

“Teens in the DC-area are really excited about this election and this is a great opportunity forthem to engage in the process and learn how to be civically active while staying true to theirJewish values,” said Shira Kaplan, Seaboard Region Youth Director for USY & Kadima.

BBYO’s and USY’s programming are both teen inspired and led, and the Election Night localevent is no different. Teen members will help facilitate and coordinate this event, with staffsupport. “It is exciting that we’ll be able to participate in the election with our peers. In a fewyears we’ll be voting and this is a great opportunity for us to begin to take an active role in ourfuture and witness history,” said Jenna Kress, DC Council Teen Co-President.

“Voice Your Vote: D.C. Election Night Bash” will take place on Tuesday, November 6 from7:30pm - 11:00pm. The event will take place at Dave & Busters (11301 Rockville Pike, Ste.300,North Bethesda, MD) and is open to all Jewish Teens in the 8th-12th grade.
