Wow! Scottish Traditonal Pub Returns

The Royal Mile Pub is starting to regain it's real Scottish pub atmosphere. The background music was celtic as I entered this longtime favorate establishment created by Joey and Ray Morrison over 30 years ago.  Their son Ian continued their tradition of providing a friendly true pub with great meals, fine drink and good entertainment. Max, the new owner has begun to recapture that magic. Redecorating, promotions and more  performers. The folk group Kensington Station had the audience singing and cheering with each song. Mick and his wife from Glascow, Scotland were singing along to Mari's Wedding while the piper played a lively tune outside the pub. The aroma for fresh fish 'n' chips, Shepherd's Pie and good single malt Scotch filled the air and you had to double check to  see if you were on Price Avenue in  Wheaton or in a pub somewhere in the Scottish highlands! I met a friend there from Bethesda who simply found this unique treasure by using her GPS while looking for a fun night out. Jazz and Swing from 1930s Britain up to today on Weds. with Night and Day Jazz, Scottish traditonal fiddle music and songs Thurs(Nov.1) by A Gathering of Scots(Andrew Dodds, Zan McLoed and others), and Kensington Station returns on Friday to repeat her magic.  Have not had such a great time in years!
