Bites Nearby: Paul Kee Restaurant

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in, but we've got a better idea. Each week, Wheaton Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

- Paul Kee is a favorite of those who understand Chinese food goes far beyond General Tso's and Lo Mein. Locals flock here for the spicy squid, fried pork, and Szechuan dumplings, among other Cantonese specialties.

With ducks, pigs, and chickens hanging in the back of the kitchen and neon lights lighting up the front, it is more cheap eats than fine dining. But that's all part of the experience.

There is definitely enough on this menu that you'll have to come back a few times before you get a true feel for the spot, but be sure not to miss the casseroles--filled with meat, fish and veggies, they are a Paul Kee specialty.
