WHEATON, MD — A Tuesday morning collision sent a car crashing into a firehouse in Wheaton, causing structural damage to the building, authorities said.
The two-vehicle crash happened near Georgia Avenue and Arcola Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. According to Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, the car veered off the roadway and traveled 25 feet before hitting the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad's sign, bench, and building.
ICYMI (~630a) usually @WheatonRescue2 responds to the Emergency, today the ‘Emergency’ unfortunately came to us, not any serious injury, property damage minimal (but the sign & bench not so good) https://t.co/zlflTGrtoa
