Friday, May 15

• The 8 Ohms band will play funk and soul in the Rockville Town Square from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
• The free outdoor concert series Downtown Live! returns to the Fountain Plaza Stage in Silver Spring with King Teddy at 6:30 p.m.
• Relax and enjoy fine art at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn Wine and Art party from 7 to 9:30 p.m. featuring Monet’s water lilies. Reservations requested.
• Arthur Miller’s The Price opened Wednesday at Olney Theatre. Show tonight begins at 7:45 p.m.
• Olney Theatre has extended the musical Carousel through May 24. Tonight’s show is at 8 p.m.
• AMP by Strathmore presents Tribute to ‘Sassy’ Sarah Vaughan at 8 p.m. in North Bethesda
• Sandy Spring Theater Group’s production of Brighton Beach Memoirs continues at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 8 p.m.
• Olney Theatre presents Arthur Miller’s The Price at 7:45 p.m.

Saturday, May 16

• Olney Days returns this year with activities Saturday and Sunday. The first event “Joe’s Ride and Stride” begins at 7 a.m.
• Are you a potential first-time homebuyer? If so, the Spring Homebuyer Education Workshop at Springbrook High School may be of interest.
• The 6th Annual Gaithersburg Book Festival takes place rain or shine on the City Hall grounds from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. An app is available for your smartphone this year.
• The Sandy Spring Museum’s Garden Club Tour begins at 10 a.m. and features five gardens.
• Kick off summer with strawberries and family fun at the Strawberry Festival at White Oak Middle School at 10 a.m.
• Bethesda’s Strut Your Mutt dog parade and festival begins at 10 a.m. at Woodmont Avenue
• Imagination Stage’s ‘Saturday Song Circle’ for young children features Toot Toot Beep Beep at 10 a.m.in Bethesda.
• Meet at Kennedy High School for “A Walk for Water” to raise funds and awareness about global water needs. Enjoy food, live music from West Africa, traditional crafts and more at 10 a.m.
• It is Community Day and Strawberry Festival at the Good Hope Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring. The fun begins at 10 a.m.
• Adventure Theatre-MTC presents The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with performances at 11 a.m., 2 and 4:30 p.m.
• The Puppet Co. presents Cinderella in Glen Echo Park at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
• Explore life in the Montgomery County at the end of the Civil War at Riley’s Lock along the C&O Canal at noon.
• Relay for Life of Clarksburg and Germantown starts at noon at Rocky Hill Middle School.
• Imagination Stage presents Sinbad: The Untold Tale at 1:30 and 4 p.m.
• Olney Theatre presents the musical Carousel at 2 and 8 p.m.
• Enjoy an evening of professional women’s soccer as the Washington Spirit takes on the Sky Blue FC at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds.
• Glen Echo’s Folk and Fiddle Gala featuring two bands and two dances begins at 8 p.m. in the Bumper Car Pavilion.
• Sandy Spring Theater Group’s production of Brighton Beach Memoirs continues at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn at 8 p.m.
• King Soul performs at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club at 8 p.m.

• Imagination Stage’s ‘Sunday Fun Day’ program for young children features the children’s story ‘The Tiny Seed’ at 10 a.m.
• Adventure Theatre-MTC presents The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with performances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
• Bring the family to Tikvat Israel’s “Truck Touch & Marketplace” in Rockville from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
