with Featured Artist of the Month: Sandra Perez-Ramos
Opening reception: Sunday, June 1, from 1 - 5 pm
Sandra Perez-Ramos is a contemporary multimedia artist, born and raised in Puerto Rico. Her latest work includes a series of whimsical "Neo-Primitive" ink illustrations that have vibrant colors, graphic mini-patterns, and playfully irreverent themes. Her art has been part of international juried biennials and shows throughout the US, Cuba and PR. After receiving her Bachelors degree in Visual Arts Communications majoring in design and photography, she continued independent studies in drawing, fiber arts and clay.
In Puerto Rico, Sandra was juried into prestigious arts and crafts fairs showing her jewelry and functional art items. She created and managed Republica Kachibache, an arts/vintage bazaar in the bohemian area of Old San Juan. After relocating to the DC area, she worked as designer and labor coordinator for a custom interior design products company.
