WHEATON, MD — Two men were violently beaten by fifteen MS-13 gang members who mistakenly thought they were part of a rival gang in a Wheaton Park July 12.
Police told WJLA that two men were walking to a restroom at the Wheaton Regional Park when members from the gang approached them. The gang members thought the victims were in a rival gang, and led them to a secluded lake in the park.
The gang members then filmed themselves assaulting the men, police said. Members used branches to hit the men and some pulled out knives. Two people walked by and saw what was going on, causing the gang members to flee the scene.
