WHEATON, MD — A Metro rider was attacked by four young men after he refused to give them his cellphone on a Red Line train Sunday evening, police said.

At around 5:40 p.m. on a Glemont-bound train going toward Wheaton, four young men approached the man and told him to hand over his phone and give them the passcode, police said. The man refused, and one of the suspects then allegedly punched him in the face and head.

The victim told police he felt the suspects go through his pockets. The four men then ran off the train when the doors opened at Wheaton with the victim's credit and debit cards, police said.
