Montgomery County Department Of Police: Detectives Continue To Investigate Silver Spring Residential Burglary And Package Theft

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are investigating an October 15 burglary and package theft that occurred in the 8000 block of Georgia Avenue. Detectives have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

On October 15 at approximately 2:00 a.m., an unknown suspect broke into the package room of an apartment building in the 8000 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. Residential surveillance footage captured a black male suspect gaining access to the package room, using an unknown tool to bypass the lock. The suspect is then seen opening multiple packages and placing the property in a separate bag before fleeing the scene with the stolen property.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a gray and blue hat, light colored shirt and dark pants. He was also wearing a black facemask and gloves and carrying a black backpack.
