Olney Civic Association Outraged Over Montgomery County Democratic no-shows at candidate debate

The Washington Post is reporting that the incumbent Democrats currently serving At-Large on the Montgomery County Council refused to attend an Olney, Maryland civic association debate Monday night.

Councilmembers Nancy Floreen, George Leventhal and Hans Riemer did not show up for the debate, despite months of work by Olney to set-up the debate.

The Post reports that Greater Olney Civic Association president John Webster said that Floreen, Leventhal and Riemer did a “disservice both to the community and the candidates.”

The Olney Gazette reports that the incumbents have been accused of ducking debates this year.
