Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In Wheaton-Glenmont Area: Police

A 30-year-old man trying to cross the street in the Wheaton-Glenmont area on Saturday was hit and killed by a car.

WHEATON, MD — A 30-year-old man was killed after getting hit by a car in the Wheaton-Glenmont area Saturday, according to authorities.

Shortly after midnight, Montgomery County Police were called to the area of Layhill Road and Greenery Lane for the report of a pedestrian-involved collision.

Alberto Alexander Duque, of an unconfirmed address, was crossing Layhill Road at Greenery Lane when he was hit by a 2013 Toyota Prius that was traveling north on Layhill Road, according to police. Duque later died at a local hospital.

Officials identified the driver of the Toyota Prius as 47-year-old Brian Douglas of Bowie.

Police said they are conducting an investigation into Saturday's fatal collision. Anyone with information should call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
