Reward Offered for Tips in Wheaton Shooting

Montgomery County Police say a man is in serious condition after he was found on a Wheaton sidewalk with gunshot wounds.

WHEATON, MD — A man found injured by a gunshot wound is hospitalized in serious condition after the Wheaton shooting, police say.

Montgomery County Police are hoping the public will share tips on Tuesday night's shooting that on Centerhill Street in Wheaton. A reward is being offered for an arrest in the case.

Police and rescue personnel were called to the 12100 block of Centerhill Street for the report of a shooting, where officials found a 27-year-old man on the sidewalk. He was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and taken to a trauma center, where he remains.

Authorities have not released the victim's name.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police at 240.773.5530.
