Two Arrested for Wheaton Burglary

Rockville Police, MCPD worked on case together.

Montgomery County Police arrested Jose Fernando Ingles Mendez, 18, of 3300 block of Camden Street and Heliu Melvin Castillo, 18, of the 12400 block of Connecticut Avenue in connection with a burglary at Chakakian Carpet and Rugs, 12255 Veirs Mill Road on June 27, after working with Rockville Police Department.

On June 28, two Rockville City Police Officers were patrolling Rockcrest Park and noticed people standing near a scooter on a footpath. As the officers talked to the individuals, they observed the scooter’s ignition showed signs of tampering. The officers found a vehicle identification number on the scooter and discovered it had been stolen during the burglary on June 27.

4th District detectives responded and charged the two men with second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary and theft under $1,000.
