Weekend Events: Student/Staff Basketball Game, Jazz Combo, Alice in Wonderland and More

Parkland Middle School vs. Loiederman Middle School (Staff/Student) Basketball Game

• Where: Wheaton High School, 12601 Dalewood Dr, Silver Spring
• When: Friday, March 1, 6 p.m.
• Description: Parkland Middle School and Loiederman Middle School staff and students face off in their annual basketball competition.
• Cost: $5

Jazz Performance

• Where: Hollywood East Cafe, 11160 Veirs Mill Rd, Wheaton
• When: Friday, March 1, 7-10 p.m.
• Description: The Night and Day Jazz Combo performs at Hollywood East with Renee Tannenbaum on vocals, Mike Suser on piano and vocals, Dennis Johnson on saxophone and Steve Scott on bass.

Drumline Live

• Where:  5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda
• When: Friday, March 1, 8 p.m.
• Description:  R&B performance combined with choreographed dance.

Gallery B February Exhibition – Final Weekend

• Where:  7700 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite E, Bethesda
• When:  Friday, Mar. 1 – Saturday, Mar. 2, 12 -6 p.m.
• Description:  Final weekend of the Gallery B Exhibit.

Pandora’s Box

• Where:  Reeve Studio Theatre, 4908 Auburn Ave Bethesda
• When:  Friday, Mar. 1 – Sunday, Mar. 3, 7:30 p.m.
• Description:  Imagination Station presents a story about a teenager struggling to find her place in high school until an ancient box opens up infinite possibilities.

Somerset ES production of "Alice in Wonderland"

• Where:  Somerset Elementary School, 5811 Warwick Pl, Chevy Chase
• When:  Friday, Mar. 1, 7 p.m.
• Description:  Students at Somerset Elementary school present "Alice in Wonderland, Jr," a musical version of the classic story.

Photographers

• Where:  7700 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda
• When:  Saturday, Mar. 2, all day
• Description:  A group exhibition featuring works by Howard Clark, Martin Evans, Stephen Hoff and Dave Montgomery.

Quilts of Valor and Quilts for Kids

• Where:  19951 Father Hurley Blvd, Germantown
• When:  Saturday, Mar. 2, 9 a.m.
• Description:   Quilts of Valor creates quits for veterans and kids in treatment for cancer.  All who sew are welcome to join.

Laugh Riot at the Hyatt

• Where:  Hyatt Regency Bethesda, 1 Bethesda Metro Ctr, Bethesda

• Description:  3 Local comics, $25 cash prize joke contest for non-com audience members.
