WHEATON, MD — A man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed at Westfield Wheaton Mall Tuesday, according to police. Montgomery County Police said they responded to a report of a stabbing at 11160 Veirs Mill Rd around 4:48 p.m. Police told Patch that the victim was stabbed near Last Stop, located on the lower level of the mall. Though the victim suffered life-threatening injuries, police say he is expected to survive. Investigators said the stabbing was not a random attack, but are still trying to identify the suspect. Police did not immediately release more information. An investigation is under way. Police ask anyone who saw or has information about the incident to call 240-773-5530.
