We’re very excited at Bartman MMA and Self-Defense for our Women’s Self-Defense Workshop Saturday, April 25, 2015. I hope you can take some time on Saturday to join us! The special class will be 4:45 - 6:45 PM.

I like to think of the self-defense we teach as Self-Reliant Self-Defense. The strength and capabilities of using just your own body to defend yourself will surprise you.

We’ll introduce you to 10 techniques for common grabs, holds, and shoves and also discuss 5 central concepts to self-defense that can be applied in a variety of situations.

We train in a very safe manner and have fun while doing it! It doesn’t take athleticism or strength - the techniques rely on maximizing your body’s strength and leverage over your opponent. We believe anyone can learn self-defense.

The mental value of self-defense training extends beyond just preventing a worst case assault situation. It starts before any physical contact occurs. Setting boundaries, recognizing certain signs, and being aware of and managing distance can go a long way to improving safety and the likelihood of having to use a physical self-defense technique. At the other end of the spectrum we’ll also cover some worse case scenarios and how to handle them.

We guarantee you will feel more powerful when you walk out than when you walked in!
