14 Specialty Hospitals Ranked Among Best In Massachusetts
Massachusetts hospitals were ranked in cardiac, critical, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, stroke and surgical care.

MASSACHUSETTS — Several Massachusetts hospitals were ranked the best in their area of specialty in a new ranking released this week by Healthgrades, an online physician and hospital locator.
Healthgrades evaluated 4,500 hospitals across more than 30 common procedures and conditions to determine the 250 that received 2024 America's Best Hospitals Awards. At the same time, the organization ranked hospitals in 32 states across 18 specialty areas to determine its Specialty State Rankings.

Healthgrades said in its survey that more than three-fourths (76 percent) of consumers rely on quality rankings when choosing a specialty hospital. The survey also showed that when deciding between hospitals before scheduling procedures, nearly two-thirds (63 percent) said they would choose the hospital that received a high-quality ranking.
The organization said in a news release that it used data-driven, clinically validated methodology that focuses solely on patient outcomes to determine the rankings.
