Mother Will Be Charged In Deaths Of 2 Duxbury Children: DA

The children were strangled in their Duxbury home, according to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz.

DUXBURY, MA — A Duxbury mother will be charged in connection to the Tuesday night deaths of her two children and the serious injury of a toddler, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

Cruz said an arrest warrant has been issued for Lindsay Clancy, 32, following the strangulation deaths of Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3. Their 8-month-old sibling was hospitalized after the domestic incident on Tuesday evening.

At a Tuesday night news conference, Cruz said that police went to a home on Summer Street just after 6 p.m. Tuesday after Clancy jumped out a window in an apparent suicide attempt. Inside, authorities found the two children with "obvious signs of trauma." They were later pronounced dead at a local hospital, the DA added.

"This is an isolated incident, and there is no further threat to the community. We feel comfortable in saying that," Duxbury Police Chief Michael Carbone said at the conference.

"Our prayers are with the family and community today," the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office wrote in a tweet. "We keep [Duxbury Police, Duxbury Fire, the Plymouth County DA], and all of the public safety personnel that responded last night, to a truly horrific scene, in our thoughts."
