MASSACHUSETTS — If you get into the Christmas spirit as soon as the calendar flips over to November, then Country Living has the list for you: "The 30 Most Magical Christmas Towns in the U.S."

Two Massachusetts places are considered among those with the most to offer for the holidays. Stockbridge and Cape Cod are places where you can "make all your Hallmark Christmas town dreams come true."

Stockbridge was No. 4 on the list. Here's what Country Living had to say about the classic New England town: "Stockbridge might look just like a Norman Rockwell painting—and that's because it is! Each year, the town re-creates the 1967 Rockwell painting, 'Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas (Home for Christmas)' during their annual festival. Old-fashioned cars line the main street to re-create the painting, and the public can tour historic homes decorated for the holidays."

The Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas event is scheduled for Dec. 1 to 3. More information is available at the Chamber of Commerce's website.

Cape Cod landed on the list at No. 8. Maybe winter is the best time of year to visit this tourist hotspot that attracts millions of visitors each summer.

"Looking for boatloads of Christmas cheer with a New England twist? Head to Cape Cod!" Country Living wrote. "There are few things more picturesque than lighthouses decked to their nines in Christmas garlands, wreaths, and lights. What's more, the quaint seaside destination hosts dozens of craft fairs, parades, theater productions, and even a Train to Christmas Town."

No. 1 in the rankings was Middleburg, VA, which offers an old-fashioned Christmas experience and plenty of holiday shopping opportunities.

The list includes everything from fabulous light displays and shoppable Christmas markets to Yuletide parades. While classic New England towns are well-represented, so are warm-weather locations like Delray Beach, FL and Solvang, CA.
