3 Dead In MA Wrong-Way Crash: State Police

Two people from Connecticut and a third from New York died after Sunday's two-car crash.

HOLYOKE, MA — State police have identified the three people who died after a wrong-way collision along I-91 in Holyoke over the weekend.

Near 6 p.m. Sunday, Wallace Sherman Jr. of Gloversville, New York, was driving northbound in the southbound lane of I-91 when he collided head-on with a car carrying two people from Milford, Conn.

The driver of the second car died at the scene, and her passenger died at a nearby hospital. They were identified as Judith Keating, 65, and Michelle Swaller, 65.

State police were still investigating the cause of the crash and did not immediately say why Sherman was driving in the wrong direction along I-91.
