A Maryland man won a $1 million prize off a Massachusetts Lottery scratch-off ticket.
Cory Choquette was visiting family in Massachusetts when he hit it big with a 100X ticket, the lottery said on social media.
"The Mechanicsville man was visiting family up north when he picked up a 100X scratcher from Valero on North Main Street in Palmer," the Daily Voice reported.
"Choquette claimed the $1 million prize at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester, authorities announced this week," according to the Economic Times, which noted that "he did not take the prize as an annuity. Instead, he chose to receive a one-time cash payment of $650,000 before taxes."
The store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus, a WWLP story said.
