2 Killed In North Reading Crash; Man Charged With OUI
Matthew Sweeney was charged with felony motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence and operating to endanger in connection with a fatal crash. An initial investigation found that the Paxton resident was speeding in an Acura MDX at 10:45 p.m. on Route 28. His car crashed into a Honda HR-V that was stopped at a red light, and the Honda became engulfed in flames. First responders and a Good Samaritan attempted to get the occupants out of the car, but two victims, a man and a minor, died at the scene of the crash.
'Am I Really Seeing This?' 1,260-Pound Marlin Caught Off MA Coast
Capt. Damon Sacco and his client, Plymouth retiree Walter Chapman, on Wednesday landed what is believed to be the largest Atlantic blue marlin ever caught off the U.S. East Coast. The 1,260-pound, 11-foot marlin came in just 142 pounds shy of the world record set off the shores of Brazil in 1992. The fish's head was on its way to the University of Maine Pelagic Fisheries Lab to determine its age. Director of the lab and an associate professor at the university's marine sciences school Walt Golet said that the fish could be in the range of 25 to 30 years.
Karen Solomon Wanted In Connection With Worcester Cop Husband's Death: Police
A warrant was issued for the arrest of the 58-year-old in connection with the death of her Worcester police officer husband. Solomon was last seen about 5:45 a.m. last Tuesday wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Worcester officers responded to a residence shortly before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of a person down. A deceased man was later identified as a Worcester police officer who was off-duty at the time, officials said. Saucier said Karen Solomon is presumed to be armed and dangerous.

Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting In Cambridge
The man, who was in his 60s, was shot shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday on Temple Street. Cambridge Police responded after receiving a call on the department's business line reporting suspicious individuals in a loading dock and parking lot behind area businesses. The caller told police the individuals had been in the area for an extended period of time. Police officers tried to disarm the man after he emerged from his vehicle and allegedly pointed his weapon at them before multiple shots were fired, striking him. Medical aid was provided at the scene, but he was pronounced dead.
