A Malden man was officially charged this past weekend on kidnapping and trafficking charges after he was arrested for reportedly holding a woman captive for weeks.

Malden Man Facing Federal Kidnapping And Trafficking Charges
Malden police responded to a residence in the area of Summer Street after receiving a call from a landlord. Police subsequently found a woman who investigators said had been held against her will and sexually abused for approximately six weeks. Malden police detectives were assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, the FBI Boston Violent Crimes Task Force, and the U.S. Marshals Service during the operation. Jordende Pierre pleaded not guilty to the charges of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, kidnapping, and indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.
Fall Nor'easter Flood Watch Extended Across MA: See Top Rain Totals, Peak Wind Gusts
A Flood Watch remained in effect for most of eastern and central Massachusetts on Monday as the region endured the third day of a fall nor'easter. The National Weather Service extended the Flood Watch through Tuesday morning, with highly saturated areas getting up to a half inch more of rain, increasing the risk of downed trees and storm damage. There were more than 170 reports of damage from toppled trees in the wind and rain Saturday and Sunday, according to the NWS. Power outages peaked at about 10,000 on Saturday.
Man Dies In Single-Vehicle Crash Under I95 Overpass In Lynnfield
The single-vehicle crash took place under the Interstate 95 overpass on Main Street at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The man was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
North Shore Police Officer Indicted On Assault, Civil Rights Violation Charges
A former Lynn police officer has been indicted on an assault and battery and civil rights violation charge after the Essex County District Attorney's Office said he was accused of using "unreasonable force" while responding to a call earlier this year. Christopher Gomez is accused of "depriving the victim of his right to bodily security guaranteed by federal and state constitutions." Lynn police said he submitted his resignation prior to being terminated. Gomez is slated to be arraigned early next month.
Water is expected to rise in coastal areas up to one foot above ground-level in low-lying areas and breaking waves are expected to reach six to 15 feet in surf zones resulting in minor flooding as the nor'easter fades, according to the National Weather Service. Strong northeast winds with large waves will result in minor coastal flooding with pockets of moderate coastal flooding over multiple high tide cycles. The greatest risk for coastal flooding appears to be setting up south of Boston to the Cape and islands.
