Framingham Fire Injures 3 Firefighters, Displaces 8
Firefighters on Friday responded to a house fire at approximately 10:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke emanating from the three-story residential building. Three members of the department suffered minor injuries in the extinguishing and rescue effort in which three dogs were successfully evacuated from the home. Two cats could not be saved in time and died in the fire.

8 Athletes With MA Ties Qualify For Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics
Eight athletes from Massachusetts have qualified so far for the 2026 Olympic Games and accompanying Paralympic Games in Italy next month across the sports of ice hockey, sled hockey, speedskating, and wheelchair curling. With competition sites in the city of Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, the winter resort in the Dolomites that is more than 250 miles away by road, this will be the most spread-out Winter Games in history. Athletes will also compete in three other mountain clusters besides Cortina, while the closing ceremony will be in Verona, 100 miles east of Milan.
2 Charged Following Prostitution Sting At Central MA Hotel
A 24-year-old female was accused of charging a fee for sexual conduct at a Red Roof Inn Boston in Southborough, according to police. Another individual is also facing charges after police found 12 Percocet pills on his person. Both people arrested are from the city of Randolph.

MA Earns High Marks As Family-Friendly State In New Study
The report evaluated all 50 states in the categories of family life, including education and child care, health and safety, affordability, socioeconomics and family-friendly activities. Researchers compared everything from school quality and crime rates to income growth and housing costs to determine which states offer the most supportive environments for families. Massachusetts earned the top spot in education and child care. The report also highlighted broader quality-of-life measures, including low infant mortality rates and longer life expectancy, which helped boost Massachusetts’ profile compared to much of the country.
Top 100 High Schools For Sports In MA Ranked In New Report
Niche, which ranks schools yearly on academics, recently released its list ranking Massachusetts' high schools based on which are the best for athletics. The 2026 rankings cover 440 Massachusetts high schools. The rankings are based on several factors, including the number of sports offered, the number of students participating in sports, and the school's enrollment in grades 9 through 12. Reviews on Niche posted by parents and students are weighted heavily in the data.
