'Baby, You're A Firework:' Mass General NICU Babies Decked Out For 4th
The hospital shared photos of their newest arrivals, many of whom sported flashy sunglasses and fireworks swaddles.

BOSTON, MA — Mass General Brigham is celebrating its 'smallest, patriotic patients celebrating their first 4th of July in star-spangled style' in the neonatal intensive care units at Mass General for Children and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
"While hospitalized over Independence Day, these little firecrackers are dreaming of future fun at the beach, by the grill and seaside," Mass General Brigham wrote. "From tiny stars and stripes to their mini Uncle Sam hats, these outfits are making staff, family and friends hearts burst with pride and joy!"

One of the babies even slept one some plastic green turf and a picnic blanket, surrounded by plastic barbecue staples like burgers, watermelon and corn.

"These special traditions that helps connect our families to a happy memory during their time in the hospital," Mariah Arlin, a registered nurse of Mass General for Children's NICU, said. "It is our hope that families will remember the care we so lovingly deliver in our NICUs and pass on the stories of their stay with their children in the future."
