Bear Takes A Cool Dip In MA Pond Before Koi Scare Him Off: Watch

The bear found a great place in Pepperell to beat the heat until the koi decided no more, video shows.

PEPPERELL, MA — A black bear found a great way to beat the heat Wednesday when he took a dip in a small pond in Pepperell, according to a video shared by multiple outlets.

However, it didn't take him long to realize he wasn't alone in his newfound oasis, the video shows.

Swimming around the bear were several koi, the beloved orange and white fish so many love to feed and admire at their favorite zoo. Perhaps these koi thought the bear had a snack as they swam closer to him to investigate.

The bear hardly notices the fish as the video shows him taking a couple of sips of water. That's when the koi appear to be over the lounging bear and his empty paws.

The bear jumps twice, startled by the encroaching koi before he finally flees the pond.
