HARTFORD, CT — A man's body pulled from the Connecticut River in Hartford on Monday may have drifted from as far as Massachusetts or Vermont, according to multiple reports that cite police.

A fisherman wetting a line in the river in Charter Oak Landing reeled in the man's body, reports say.

Authorities say the body had been in the water for an extended period, according to WVIT Channel 30.

Patch reached out to the Hartford Police Department, which was only able to confirm Tuesday afternoon that the body was found and that its origin is still unknown.
