MASSACHUSETTS — It isn't so much a question of what there is to do in the Boston area and beyond, but rather, what should locals do?

Welcome to Patch's latest weekly roundup of highlight-worthy events across the city and surrounding areas. We've compiled them into one, easy-to-follow list, for your weekend planning.

Boston will break out the duck boats for the Celtics championship parade on Friday, which is expected to depart TD Garden on Causeway Street at about 11 a.m. and take about 90 minutes to travel the two miles to the Hynes Convention Center. The route will take Causeway to Staniford then to Cambridge Street, which turns into Tremont Street. It will take a right turn onto Boylston Street to Copley Square and Hynes.

But the weekend doesn't end there, with JoynerFest bringing some of the best lyrical rappers working today to Worcester, Hardy bringing his current tour to Xfinity Center and Mdou Moctar playing in Boston.
