Duxbury Mom Enters 'Not Guilty' Plea In Triple-Murder Case

Lindsay Clancy will remain in a Boston hospital following her first court appearance. She's charged in the killings of her three children.

DUXBURY, MA — The Duxbury mother charged in the strangling deaths of her three children will remain hospitalized following an arraignment Tuesday.

Lindsay Clancy, 32, attended Tuesday's hearing via videoconference. Masked and lying in a hospital bed, a not-guilty plea was entered on her behalf on charges of murder, assault and battery and strangulation.

Bristol County prosecutors say Clancy strangled her three children — Callan, an infant; Cora, 5; Dawson, 3 — on Jan. 24 after sending her husband out on an errand. Clancy then tried to take her own life by jumping out her home's window.

During the arraignment, Bristol County Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague said Clancy called her husband this week and told him that a man's voice told her to kill the children and then take her own life.

Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, told the court Clancy had been prescribed a variety of medications in the months before the killings, including Prozac, Benadryl and other mood stabilizers. Reddington also said Clancy had not experienced any postpartum mental health issues following the births of Cora and Dawson, but did after giving birth to Callan in October.
