EPOCH Senior Living Presents Program for Families of Those with Dementia

Presentation features guest experts on non-pharmacological approaches to dementia to be held on January 22

Waltham, MA – January 20, 2026 – EPOCH Senior Living is continuing its educational seminar series for residents’ families and prospective families, developed in partnership with McLean Hospital. The series provides essential education and support for those caring for loved ones with dementia.

"Non-Pharmacological Approaches for Dementia," will be held on Thursday, January 22, at 7 PM via Zoom.

Guest experts Dr. Alice Uflacker, Staff Psychiatrist at McLean Hospital’s Geriatric Psychiatry Outpatient Service and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and Dr. Julie Brody Magid, Clinical Director of Neuropsychology at McLean Hospital and Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School, will share insights designed for those caring for loved ones with dementia.

The seminar will help participants:

  • Identify some of the most difficult behaviors that can arise throughout the course of dementia.
  • Learn practical, evidence-based strategies for managing these behaviors.
  • Discover approaches that foster resilience and preserve dignity.

This program follows previous successful sessions in the series, including "Managing the Most Challenging Symptoms of Dementia" held in July and "Coping as a Caregiver of Someone with Dementia" held in October.
