First MA $1 Million Keno Win Claimed By Winner

One $500,000 prize and four $100,000 prizes were also won in the same March 22 game.

LENOX, MA — A Lenox-based trust is the winner of the first $1 million prize ever won in a Massachusetts State Lottery Keno game. Penny Lane Nominee Trust, represented by trustee William Martin, claimed its prize Thursday at Mass Lottery headquarters in Dorchester.

The prize was won in a Keno game that took place March 22 in which the 20 winning numbers included every number from 1 through 13, according to Mass Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Zenner’s Pub & Deli, 303 Tyler St. in Pittsfield. The retailer received a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

Sixteen $100,000 prizes were won in a Keno game April 10 in which the winning numbers included every number from 1 through 10.

The $1 million prize was won by matching the numbers 1 through 12. Keno players have the option of selecting from 1 to 12 numbers, called spots, to play from a field of numbers from 1 to 80. Prizes and odds of winning vary based on the number of spots played.

The odds of matching all 12 numbers in a 12-spot game are 1 in 478,261,833.
