First Snow Coming To MA: See How Much, When Flakes Fall
A winter weather advisory go into effect Tuesday night, with the first flakes of this winter set to fall across much of Massachusetts.

MASSACHUSETTS — The first few flakes of this winter will fall tonight in Massachusetts.
The first snow event of the 2022-23 winter season will be light, but a wide section of the state will see some kind of accumulation — from a trace near the I-95 corridor to up to 3 inches in the Berkshires.
A winter weather advisory will go into effect Tuesday at 7 p.m. covering most of Worcester County north and west of Worcester, plus areas west of the Quabbin Reservoir. The advisory warns of snow, but also some ice accumulation in the northernmost parts of the state along the Vermont border.

For areas east of Worcester, look for a mix of precipitation starting Tuesday night and then changing over to full rain by early Wednesday.
"A coastal storm will bring a wintry mix along with accumulating snow for parts of the interior tonight into early Wednesday. This will bring impacts to the Wednesday a.m. commute," the weather service forecast said early Tuesday. "A cold rain is expected across the coastal plain. Precipitation ends Wednesday afternoon from southwest to northeast."

After the precipitation ends Wednesday, watch for dry, sunny conditions for the rest of the week — but with continuing cold temperatures.
The Boston area will warm up slightly, with temperatures in the high 40s near the end of the week. The Worcester area will be colder, including a dip into the 20s overnight Thursday. The Cape may see some lingering showers on Thursday, according to the forecast.
