MA Cardiologist Practiced While Impaired, State Board Says

A cardiologist was disciplined after admitting to practicing medicine while impaired, according to a state registration board.

The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine has disciplined a cardiologist after he admitted to practicing medicine while impaired, according to a statement from the board.

Dr. Lucian M. Neville, a board-certified internist with a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease, was first licensed to practice medicine in June 2022.

The board issued a suspension to Neville which has been put on hold. After showing that he was fit to practice again, Neville was allowed to keep working under a probation agreement, the statement reads.

Previously, he had entered an agreement to not practice medicine in March 2024. Neville has practiced medicine with Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Baystate Medical Center, Hampden and Franklin County Cardiovascular Associates, and Hampshire Cardiovascular Associates, according to the statement.
