Winter Warmth In MA: Region Could See Above-Average Temperatures
Highs in the 50s will be possible in Massachusetts, close to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

MASSACHUSETTS — There's a probability of higher-than-normal temperatures in Massachusetts over the next couple of weeks, according to the National Weather Service.
According to a newly released extended outlook, highs in the 50s are possible next week into the beginning of March for Boston, Providence, and Hartford — significantly higher than the average highs in the low 40s during this time, weather officials said.
"The normal high/low March 1st for Boston, Providence and Hartford is ~ 43/26," the weather service said in a tweet Tuesday.

The high in Boston is expected could hit 56 on Feb. 28, and may not dip below 50 the entire week, according to the National Weather Service. Lows are expected to linger in the 40s for multiple days. The Worcester area could see similar warmth, with temperatures next week in the high 40s.
With the chance of warmer temperatures, the chance of another round of snow is off the table — at least over the next few weeks, according to the long range forecast.

But snowstorms have hit the region well into late February and March. The Presidents' Day storm in 2003 dropped more than 27 inches across the Boston area. In April 1997, some parts of eastern Massachusetts received nearly 30 inches.
