MA Weather: Latest Nor'easter Forecast Updates Released
The storm that will drench the East Coast this weekend may arrive a bit earlier than previously forecast.
MASSACHUSETTS — Settle in for another wet weekend: It appears that a storm will deliver heavy rain a bit earlier than previously forecast.
Much of the state has a 70% chance of rain overnight Friday into Saturday. There's a high chance of rain all day Saturday with showers tapering off Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Unfortunately, the region won't be out of the woods yet as blustery conditions with wind gusts up to 35+ mph are expected Sunday.

Accuweather said the storm is likely to cause "drenching rain" that will "streak rapidly north from eastern North Carolina to southern New England."

"The rain may be intense enough along the Interstate 95 zone from Philadelphia to New York City and Boston to lead to urban flooding and transit delays," according to Accuweather. "The downpours on Friday can occur at any time in Philadelphia but may hold off until the evening in Boston."
From New York City to Boston and Maine, the wettest period will be from Friday to Saturday night. Up to 1.5 inches of rain is forecast, according to the National Weather Service. Accuweather said the region will have 1 to 2 inches of rain "with local amounts of 3-4 inches in New England, New Brunswick and eastern Quebec from Friday to Sunday night."

The low temperature Friday night is forecast to be 58 degrees in Boston, according to the National Weather Service. Highs near 63 Saturday and 58 Sunday.
By Sunday night, the chance of rain will be reduced to 30%. Saturday night into Sunday is when the wind will kick in with the strongest gusts forecast for Cape Cod and Nantucket.
Perhaps the only good news in the forecast is next week when the Northeast will have mostly clear skies Monday through Thursday. Highs will be in the upper 50s to mid-60s with no precipitation in the forecast.
