MA Woman Accused Of Stealing Mom's Safe During Her Funeral
Alyce Davenport allegedly broke into the home with the help of an accomplice while family members were at her mother's funeral.
WARREN, MA – A Massachusetts woman is accused of breaking into her deceased mother's home and stealing a safe while family members attended the mother's funeral. Alyce Davenport, 30, and a purported accomplice, Diron Conyers, 27, appeared in Western Worcester District Court Monday in connection with the alleged theft.
Warren police on Friday received a report of a safe stolen from a home while it was unoccupied due to the funeral of a family member, police said. Reports identified the funeral as that of Audra Johnson, Davenport's mother.
Johnson's fiancée told police someone had broken into the home sometime during the funeral, according to the Worcester Telegram. Police said Davenport did not attend the funeral and did not answer calls from family members.
