Missing MA Woman Found Stranded On Rock Jetty

The 43-year-old was last seen early Monday morning walking along a beach with her dog.

FAIRHAVEN, MA — A woman reported missing on Monday has been found alive on a rock jetty near the beach where she was last seen, according to state police.

Police kicked off a search for Anapaula Huggins, 43, just before noon on Monday. She was last seen on surveillance video with her dog near Pope Beach around 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Fairhaven Animal Control found the dog at about 9:30 a.m. Monday with no sign of Huggins.

"The missing Fairhaven woman, Anapaula Huggins, has been located alive on a rock jetty that extends well out into New Bedford Harbor," state police said in a tweet around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

First responders searched the shoreline all day from land and the water, and used assets from the SEMLEC Search and Rescue Team, a drone unit, K-9s from multiple agencies, harbormasters, and the Fairhaven police and fire departments.
