More Snow, Ice, Wind On The Way For MA: NWS

The forecast is calling for winter weather this weekend which will affect the entire state.

MASSACHUSETTS — More snow and ice is on the way for Friday night into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. One to two inches of snow is forecast for most of Eastern Massachusetts.

The central part of the state could see up to 4 inches of snow, and northern Massachusetts could get up to 6 inches of snow. The winter weather will likely result in difficult travel.

For Boston, the forecast calls for rain beginning Friday night, then switching to snow overnight into Saturday with a low of 33. The snow will continue in the morning, then switch back to rain after 10 a.m. The high Saturday will be 39. Breezy conditions are expected with wind gusts up to 38 mph.

For the Worcester area, rain and snow Friday night until 3 a.m., turning to all snow. Low around 30. Saturday will see mixed precipitation during the day changing to all snow around 4 p.m. with a high of 36.

The inclement weather is expected to clear out by Sunday, when it will be sunny with highs in the upper 30s.
