Most In MA Don't Want Biden To Run In 2024: Poll
President Joe Biden won Massachusetts easily in 2020. A new MassINC poll shows Biden might have trouble running again in 2024.

MASSACHUSETTS — A recent poll found that less than a quarter of Massachusetts residents support President Joe Biden running for re-election next year. Only 22 percent of residents said Biden should run again; 59 percent opposed a Biden re-election run; and 18 percent expressed no opinion.
Steve Koczela, president of The MassINC Polling Group, said that Massachusetts was one of Biden's best states in the 2020 election, "which makes low support for a reelection bid troubling for his campaign."
The poll, by MassINC Polling Group, found Biden's favorability ratings in a slightly better position: 43 percent favorable and 42 percent unfavorable.

The poor poll numbers for a Biden re-election run in Massachusetts mirror those across the country. Only 37 percent of Democrats want the president to run for a second term, according to an Associated Press report.

In state politics, the MassINC poll showed that 42 percent of residents have a favorable view of Gov. Maura Healey, whereas 21 percent have an unfavorable view of her. Many residents haven't yet formed an opinion of Healey, who was inaugurated last month: 22 percent were undecided and 15 percent didn't know who she was.
Residents ranked the economy/jobs as the most important issue for state lawmakers, with 19 percent listing it as their top concern. Housing costs/homelessness was ranked high as well, with 18 percent ranking it as the leading issue.
Pollsters also asked residents about Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Warren was first elected in 2012, and 43 percent of residents favor her running for a third term, compared to 36 percent opposed.
The poll of 986 Massachusetts residents was conducted Jan. 30 to Feb. 2. Check out the full poll at MassINC Polling Group.
