New H Mart Opens, Iconic Roast Beef Brand Sold: MA Food Week
Plus: Karl's Sausage Kitchen and European Market has been open in Peabody since 1958. It will close in the coming weeks.
MASSACHUSETTS — Welcome to Patch's weekly round up of food and restaurant news in Massachusetts, where we review openings, closings and more in the state's dining scene.
This week was a busy one for openings and closures in Massachusetts, including some iconic figures shutting doors.
Perhaps the best example of that is Karl's Sausage Kitchen and European Market, in Peabody. The shop has been open for nearly seven decades, but announced this week that it'll close at some point over the next few weeks.

"Since 1958, Karl's Sausage Kitchen has been much more than just a sausage kitchen — it has been a space where friendships blossomed, memories were created, and generations of families gathered around shared meals," the owners posted. "We have been honored to be part of your lives and celebrations, and your support has been the cornerstone of our success."
There was also a change for the Kelly's Roast Beef Brand, which has sold, along with four Massachusetts locations.
