Potential For Severe Weather In MA: Wind, Lightning Main Threat
High winds, heavy rain and localized flooding are possible Monday afternoon.

MASSACHUSETTS — Forecasters are warning of the potential for severe weather across Massachusetts during the afternoon and evening hours.
A round of storms Monday will likely have the biggest impact on western parts of the state, but central and eastern Massachusetts — particularly along the New Hampshire border — could see some severe weather, according to forecasts.
The storms will start popping up by about 3 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, and will reach the Worcester area by around 6 p.m. Strong winds will be the biggest threat during Monday's weather.

"Strong winds and heavy rainfall, with localized flooding possible," the National Weather Service warned.
After Monday, coastal Massachusetts may see some high surf conditions due to the remnants of Hurricane Fiona, which battered Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic over the weekend. Otherwise, Massachusetts will see pretty fall-like weather over the week with temperatures in thigh 60s and low 70s, and the chance of showers each day — except Friday.
