She is my daughter-in-law.

What does this person teach?

Sophia works at The Higashi School for students with autism and teaches art...but so much more! She brings out the students' abilities by exposing them to different mediums and [helping them use] their passion to express themselves. Her diligence and patience can be seen in the works of art created by the students.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Sophia puts her whole heart into everything she teaches, with the priority being the needs of her students. She incorporates real-life skills into her projects, blending students' creativity with practical skills.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Sophia is a talented art teacher who understands the needs of her students. Through her creativity, she reaches and develops the her students' gifts, building their confidence and self-esteem.
