Community Preservation Committee Presents at Acton Town Meeting
Here are two videos from the Community Preservation Committee's presentation and a list of their Appropriations.
At Town Meeting, the Community Preservation Committee presented what they believed to be important appropriations for preserving Acton’s historic relevance.
“The Act states that Town Meeting may delete or reduce any of the recommended appropriations, but not add new items or increase the recommended appropriations,” according to the Article-18 summary.

- Acquisition, creation and preservation of open space and its rehabilitation and restoration: $45,000.00
- Community housing program fund: $150,000.00
- Trail through time (phase III): $66,900.00
- Memorial Library - Arch Window Restoration: $15,000.00
- Town Hall Windows (Phase II): $75,000.00
- Asa Parlin House: $100,000.00
- Acton Woman's Club - 504 Main Street - Building Restoration/Preservation: $99,714.00
- Theater III - Building Restoration/Preservation: $145,500.00
- The setting aside of funds for the preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of Historic Resourses to compensate for 2007 shortfall in Historic Preservation spending: $40,000.00
- Acton Historical Society - Building Restoration/Preservation: $62,095.00
- A fund for CPC direct expenses and for reimbursing the Town of Acton for administrative services for the Community Preservation Committee: $47,487.00
- Total Recomended Appropriations from FY 10 Community Preservation Fund Balance and Current Historic Set-Aside Fund: $1,295,696.00
