Letter to the Editor: John Sonner Running for Selectmen
In his own words, John Sonner, running for the Acton Board of Selectmen, asks for your vote.

With excitement, energy, and a healthy appreciation of the challenges ahead, I announce my candidacy for our Board of Selectmen and ask for your vote on election day, Tuesday, March 29th.
If elected, I will work hard for you and for Acton. I will meet the town’s budget challenges with a dedication to efficiency, fiscal responsibility, collaboration, and innovation. Public safety, education, and natural resources will be top priorities. I will research the issues, ask tough questions, welcome your input, and cast my vote based on the best interest of the whole town.
We can find the right balance by working together, and that requires open-minded leadership.

We need strong leadership on the Board of Selectman, with a reasoned approach when making tough decisions:
- Choose the path that preserves the fiscal integrity of Acton while delivering the highest level of service possible and practical.
- Use collective knowledge and experience to propose alternatives to existing practices and pressing problems.
- Seek the counsel, talent, and contributions of others in our community. I look forward to hearing from and working with all of you.
We need experienced leadership to ensure that Acton remains one of the finest towns in Massachusetts. With my business skills, ability to deliver results, and management background, I can help the current board collectively and collaboratively.

I will continuously educate myself, ask questions, and weigh information before making decisions, especially decisions that affect thousands of people. I don’t take this lightly.
I will always keep in mind our shared goals, our vision, and our values while we work together to maintain our vital town services, the strong schools that are our future, and the sense of community that makes Acton a very special place to call our community.
